I can't believe it's Day 7 already. This has really been the easiest first week ever. In most cases, cleanses get easier every time you do them.
(Except for a few years ago when we had to go to New York on a cleanse. Even the Big Apple sparkles better with a drink or two.)
Anyway, I began the cleanse last Tuesday, March 17 - St. Patrick's Day. I completely forgot! You know you're old when you forget it's St. Paddy's Day.
You know you're really old when you start an alcohol cleanse on St. Paddy's Day!! Yikes!!
It's the first time I've started a cleanse on a Tuesday (let alone St. Patricks!), but I liked it. And I'm already 1/4 of the way through.
Here's a great article from NPR about the latest non-abstinence based recovery programs. It shows that many problem drinkers are able to get control - without quitting forever. It's not a perfect science, but there's plenty of evidence to suggest that 12-step programs aren't the only way to deal with a drinking problem. Check it out.
